Covering 200km of a 432km stretch of coastline, the famous coastal path is one of the most popular hiking destinations of the French Riviera. Established under Napoleon during the First French Empire to foil smugglers and monitor the coastline, this waterside passage shimmers with all the beauty of the Provençal flora, from Saint Raphael to Bandol via Hyères, Lavandou and Saint-Tropez.

Rocky headlands, hidden coves, secluded peninsulas and small sandy beaches make up the rich palette of this fabulous journey, between wide open spaces and rocky slopes. Fancy a breath of fresh air? Make a trip to the Cap Camarat lighthouse, the second tallest in France, from where you can admire a view stretching from the Esterel mountains to the Île du Levant island.

Then after an hour's walk along a path between the sea and fragrant heather, the Escalet beach appears along sculptural granite cliffs. An enchanting cove dotted with pink sandstone rocks that will delight you for sure. There’s plenty to guarantee an unforgettable sensory odyssey, against a backdrop of the Mediterranean’s turquoise waters.
